Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000

With the introduction of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000, North Lincolnshire Council may, for the following purposes, monitor or record business communications in order to provide evidence of the communications themselves. The purposes may include;

  • to establish the existence of facts in commercial transactions
  • to ensure compliance with regulatory or self-regulatory practices or procedures, eg internal and external audit
  • to ascertain or demonstrate standards which ought to be achieved by employees in the course of their duties, eg quality control and/or training;
  • to prevent or detect crime,
  • to investigate or detect the unauthorised use of the system, eg hacking or fraud, and to ensure the effective operation of the system, eg checking for viruses.

The council has no way of knowing if any person providing information through this site is who they say they are. The council will assume all information is genuine and cannot be held responsible for any subsequent action. If you have reason to think that someone has provided information to the council using your identity please let us know and we will correct or delete the information. You have the right to request us to remove personal data from our web site at any time.

You also have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data the council holds about you. You will be asked to confirm your identity and pay a fee, currently £10.00. If the information we hold about you is wrong, you have the right to ask us to correct it.

This privacy statement only covers the North Lincolnshire Council Website at http://www.northlincs.gov.uk. Links within this site to other web sites are not covered by this statement.
